My Dress making

I have been making Tudor costumes for quite a few years now for the recreations at Kentwell Hall .

I made my twin sister, Philippa's wedding dress for her wedding in March 2002. This was made from red silk-like taffeta with a lovely full skirt. The bolero jacket was made from emroidered chiffon on an organza backing, with velvet ribbon edging. For more pictures see Phil's Web page

I made the dress for my own wedding. The design was adapted from a dress pattern to create the style I wanted and had hand-made silk roses added to it for that final touch. The bodice top is made from a cotton brocade and the skirt is 100% silk (as are the roses). See my wedding page for more picures.
